I had a problem where FF 140.0 would not update, and in trying to get FF yo update, I used a re-install tool to which I was pointed in my problem report. This caused FF to wipe out my configuration, and I lost all my windows and tabs. I have gone to

    \Appdata\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Proifiles\abnfpged.default

cleared all of the data therein, and restored that directory from a backup I made last Monday. But I cannot get FF to use that directory. "about:profiles" shows only two profiles, but the Profiles directory has five profiles:

Only the profiles beginning with "j" and "f1" are seen in the "about:profiles" screenshot I have attached. And I have attached a screenshot of my profiles.ini file. Also, in the abnfpged.default directory I restored, where is the list of all of my open windows and tabs? FF used to keep that in a sessionstore.jsonlz4 file, but that file is only written when FF closes. I tried to save a copy when I was having problems, but I stored the copy in the same directory, which FF changed during the re-install process. Here is my profiles,.ini file:

I have not worked with the ;profiles.ini file in many years, as my FF configuration has not had problems. Thanks.

Firefox is updating 2-4 x/month while in use and has to be restarted. But my setting is on "Check for updates, but choose when to install". The last update recorded is listed as February 2026. So what gives? Thanks

Firefox has just updated on my Windows 11 PC at around 1100 17/06/2026 and now I cannot access my Spanish banking online with Banco Sabadell.

When I try to log in I get a message saying 'the process cannot proceed because of security issues.'

I could log in prior to the update and I can still log in using Brave.

By process of elimination I deduced that it must be something to do with the update.

I tried to sync my desktop and mobile today. Nothing loaded to my mobile a fact I am now gratefull for because my desktop did sync with the cloud ERASING an entire year of deleating broken bookmarks. What I want to know is how to deleate the cloud so this never happens again!

I am finding more and more that i have to go to Chrome to fill out forms. When there are check boxes on a website like the League of Women Voters to renew membership i find i can not click the box when using firefox. has something changed across the web or is there a privacy setting i can disable temporarily or ... something else? i really try to avoid Chrome but it seems that is the one browser that works consistently. And now i try to click the box at the bottom of this page to get email answers and it doesn't work. wow.,

Hi,Sorry to post this again,But I have spent over 4 hours trying every thing I can to correct it Since the last update,It totally Changed all my settings I managed to correct them,all BUT one & even though I have tried & Tried,I cannot remove SEARCH BAR on Toolbar Menu I have Been Through all Firefox Settings But Nothing Works & I have even removed all extensions,but NOTHING WORKS It was never on it before until the Update & it is a total Nuisance plesaea assist Thank you Darryl

Vertical tabs are a good idea. However to make a transition smoother special for those, like me, that have been using horizontal tabs for a life time (I was a Netscape user), can I suggest that the new tabs come on top instead of on bottom?

I could write a long motivation for that, user trend, psychological, etc, but I am sure you got the point.

i had two different firefox browsers yesterday. I deleted one but all my passwords are gone from the other browser. When the firefox browser got uninstalled it created a backup on my desktop called bookmarksback up. how can i move that file into this new firefox and how can I retrieve those passwords?

I open the sidebar, search for something, and then minimize it. When I focus back on the page and return to the sidebar again, my last query is gone and a new page screen appears. I want to continue from where I left off, just like in Opera. This also causes issues in other applications. For example, when we add WhatsApp to the sidebar and open it, we have to wait for WhatsApp to reload every single time. Without these features, there is no point in using the sidebar.

I'am testing a GPO to deploy the Lockself extension on windows 11 for Firefox 152, the JSON used in the GPO setting is the following :

{"{ca613ee6-4211-4ae2-aa3c-d29608461d11}":{"installation_mode":"force_installed","install_url":"https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/lockself-password-manager/latest.xpi","updates_disabled":false}}

And i have enabled an another setting to prevent the extension to be disabled or uninstalled by specifing the ID of the extension : ca613ee6-4211-4ae2-aa3c-d29608461d11

The policies are visibles under about:policies and they don't show any error.

The issue is that i'am still able to disable Lockself but going in Firefox parameters then under password and autofill. On the image attached, the button "Desactivate the extension" is here and you can use it, it disable the extension.

I have a few problems at my house and am trying to send photos of my garden gate which is not working. I cannot upload these photos as I get a message "Vous n’avez pas les droits nécessaires pour téléverser ce type de fichier" which I've translated to "You do not have the necessary permissions to upload this type of file.

I am using Windows 11 (this is nothing to do with Onedrive as far as I am aware).

This is a recent problem. How can I sort it please? The photos are on my Desktop as they are easier to find here.

My browser started crashing after the latest update, and it still crashes even in Safe Mode. It doesn’t close immediately upon opening; instead, it shuts down suddenly after about one minute or longer. This issue never occurred before and only started appearing after the recent update.
