Every time I open a new tab either with the + button or with ctrl-T it pops up on a bing search conduit. I have tried resetting the browser.newtab.url in about:config, but it is already on the default. There are no extensions that are redirecting.

I think this originally started happening when I installed an extension that changed my homepage and newtab url, but I later uninstalled it. But since then it hasn't gone back.

It even carried over when I installed Aurora. So... yeah. Help would be appreciated.

This issue is very common and easy to fix.

Do you have a program on your computer using the name Conduit (or something similar)?

If so, please uninstall this program from your computer.

Please report back soon.

Extensions - in your More System Details

free-downloads.net Community Toolbar 3.20.0.4 (Inactive)

Probably a Conduit created extension. Remove that Community Toolbar through the Add-ons Manager tab.

You may need to uninstall a program thru the Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, too.

Ok. Thanks for the suggestions. I uninstalled a program called search [something][something] by Conduit. I also uninstalled something called Bing Bar. And finally I found a community bar I hadn't seen before and removed that. I have also restarted my browser twice. And still the same thing happens :( Do I have to restart my computer?
