After installing Firefox 5 all bookmarks disappeared and cannot be recovered. There are JSON-files available, but they cannot be restored as described here. What do I have to do to get my bookmarks back???
I installed firefox v. 5 over a well running older firefox-version. All bookmarks got lost, however there are some JSON-files in my application data folder. However, restoring them does not work.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
