Since installing 4.0.1, I cannot reconnect to my dial-up IP without rebooting. Error 738 appears before reboot.

Every time I disconnect from my dial-up connection, I have the problem stated above, error 738, when trying to reconnect. Error 738 reads: Checking network protocol connections TCP/IP CP reported error 738 The server did not assign an address

I checked the properties on my TCP/IP connection set up, and nothing changed in the default settings, which automatically detect an IP address and a DNS server address. The only way I can reconnect is to log off and reboot, and then everything is fine, and the connection is instant.

HELP!! Do I have to uninstall 4.0.1 and reinstall the prior version?? I had problems with the 4.0 Beta program and had to uninstall it, too. Please know that I live in the boonies, and we only have dial-up available, and the "speed" of our connection is only 26.4 kbps. Yes, I live in Dinosaur, Texas .... LOL!!

Never mind the above message....I uninstalled Firefox 4.0.1 and reinstalled 3.6 and then updated to 3.6.7. Now I've lost all my Bookmarks. This is really getting to be frustrating and ridiculously hard to find answers!! What's up with the brains behind Mozilla?? Are they all hacked??
