the padlock had disappeared on Firefox 4.0.1, is it hidden? where?

after downloading Firefox 4.0.1 when shopping on a selling website I noticed that the padlock that used to be at the bottom right hand corner of the screen has now disappeared. can you tell me if the padlock is hidden somewhere or what icon could i press to check for the same information. If the padlock should still be there on a secure website does that mean that my Firefox download was highjacked by something malicious?
