How can I remove the bookmark toolbar, which I do not need and just takes up space? Firefox 3.6.3 on Linux Fedora 13.

In the View menu select Toolbars, then in the list of toolbars click on "Bookmarks Toolbar" to hide it. Clicking on the name of a toolbar in that list toggles displaying it.
