Saving tab content as a PDF

Hi everyone,

Since the Firefox Developer Edition update 152.0beta, saving as a PDF via the print menu no longer works. Although the “Save as PDF” option is available and selected by me, the job is always sent to the laser printer (which is not supposed to print it, of course). This happens on every conceivable website, so the website itself is not the cause. (Platform: macOS Tahoe 26.5.1)

For years, generating PDFs via the print menu has worked flawlessly with FF—now I’m forced to take a detour via Safari, for example—which works correctly in the long run—but isn’t my preferred solution. I don’t think you need different browsers just to use “normal” functions. So who has recently tinkered with this FF feature?

Since I can’t find the relevant setting in the FF preferences—and a “search” on this topic has been unsuccessful—I’d like to know if there’s a solution?

Best regards, HS

Hey, this seems be somehow only reported from macOS 26.5.1 — would you be able to file a bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Core&component=Printing%3A%20Output in case the engineers would need to ask some followup question or check logs for the particular setup?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what “error report” means in this context. What exactly is meant by “error report”? The fact is, NO error report is generated that could be submitted. Because FF (WITHOUT an error message) consistently generates a print job instead of a PDF.

Addendum: The reference to macOS 26.5.1 may be accurate, as the error has been PERCEIVED to occur since the update to 26.5.1.

This has been found: bugzilla.mozilla.org/2047850 — and already fixed. New release v152.0.1 will start rolling out soon.
