What happens when you use the "change location" option?

Paul, thanks a lot - well, I tryed several times - than it was the Accu Weather who brought again the weather from Basel - is not interisting here at Zurich, without any worth. I don't know, I have none VPN installed who may could explain such failure to the location - but if so, instead it should arriving my home-location, because I am always logged in with my account to firefox, therefore my homeadress should be picked up from such a weather-channel funnel.

So I've read "How it works - Firefox Weather":

If you change your location manually by searching for a city, Firefox uses your IP address to detect your country and suggest cities matching your search query from AccuWeather.

On my company laptop that has ton of "security" software installed, including routing all network traffic via company gateway located in a completely different country, there's no way I can select my own city. I think the current filtering behavior needs to be revisited. Why not allow finding/selecting a city from any country, for whatever reason?
