How default new page sites are selected? Is it possible to propose a new one? I thought that featuring https://www.openstreetmap.org/ may be interesting (it is a Wikipedia of maps - with open data dataset contributed by various people, that anyone can edit and is already quite useful). I think that it may be of interest for Firefox users. Disclaimer: I am significantly active in OSM community
