Since updating to Windows 11, GMAIL and other Google services (incl. search) run stuck after some minutes.

more options

I have a new computer. I transfered my Firefox settings to the new one. Everything worked fine on Windows 10. After a few weeks, the new computer updated to Windows 11 and since then I have problems with Google products on Firefox.

Gmail starts working fine, but after a few minutes it cannot connect to the internet any longer. I get the "Oops..." error message - sometimes a #0001, sometimes a #2005. Google Search after a while simply stops reacting on input.

I have cleared cache, cookies, updated, reinstalled and even reset Firefox. I have looked into my proxy settings and tried different options, but nothing helps.

I am using Windows 11 and Firefox 95.0 (64-bit).

I have now transfered my passwords and bookmarks etc. to Chrome, and on Chrome I have no problems whatsoever.

My impression is that I cannot do much more (or when, then very complex things) and that this is rather a problem that Firefox as software is having with Windows 11 and Google products - and that should be sorted out on the Firefox side.

Are there more people with similar problems? What's the sollution? Or should I simply move to Chrome?

I suggest updating to 95.0.1 and see if you have the same issues.

I have updated to 95.0.2, but the problem persists. The interesting thing is that it takes a while (15 minutes) in which I can use the Google programmes without problems. Then at a certain moment, they just all freeze - Gmail with the "oops, something went wrong - error #0001" message.

Another issue that played already earlier, is that I have a corporate Gmail account, which had the corporate logo next to my user-name and picture, but roughly since summer, this is still shown in Google Chrome, but not in Firefox. Because it is not such a big thing, we did not pay further attention to it.

It looks like it, however, that Firefox and Google don't mix any longer...

Another update just came out; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version?cache=no Did you update Firefox to the latest version?

Version 95.0, first offered to Release channel users on December 7, 2021 Version 95.0.1, first offered to Release channel users on December 16, 2021 Version 95.0.2, first offered to Release channel users on December 19, 2021

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1359657#answer-1463359 and updated to 95.0. . . . I finally found where the plugin "Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc." was not updating to the newest version of December 1, 2021. Ver #4.10.2391.0

cor-el; Make sure you have the latest Widevine version. You can toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

You can possibly check the XHR requests in the Browser Console if this doesn't work.

Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox {web link}

Remove a single website from your history {web link}

Open the History Manager <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any site settings And Passwords.

I had updated to version 95.0.3 and checked whether all the Widevine and DRM settings were all right, and it behaved for quite a while well, until at the end of the day and this morning. Same problems: Oops (see picture). How to continue with this?

The current release is; Version 95.0.2, first offered to Release channel users on December 19, 2021 Did you enter the wrong version? Or are you using beta?

Sorry - that was a typo - I mean the 95.0.2 (64 bit) stable version.

A video showing the issue would be helpful.

A video would not add anything to the description.

The same problem is mentioned on Redit, but then on Windows 10: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/qsgt3t/cant_even_browse_in_firefox_properly_since_the/

There it is suggested that the issue could be an add-on.

I use Gesturefy and Google Translate. As Theme, I use Flight by MaDonna, and Plugins OpenH264 by Cisco and Widevine (version 4.10.2391.0 from 20 December 2021) by Google. I would presume that the problem is likely to be in the Widevine, because only Google websservices are involved. On the Widevine webpage, I see that the latest version should be 5.0.0.11473 - so it looks like Widevine does not automatically update when I have auto-update on "default". I now have turned it "on"...

Again - working in Google Chrome does not give any problems.
