Message about removing add-ons?

more options

Hello,

I was using Windows XP SP3 and I had to use Firefox. A small message bar appeared at the bottom of the screen. It said something such as click here to disable (or remove) add-ons because they are slowing your browser down.

I do not have a screen shot. It seems like this is a message from Firefox. Is it? I scanned the system for malware and I then opened a multi-boot and re-scanned both OS's. I got nothing.

I re-installed the add-ons but have not accessed the Windows XP OS incase there is some malware.

Does Firefox do this? I have not got a message like that using Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium. Even with Vista not being supported like XP is not supported.

Thank you.

That is a fairly common message to get with an older operating system and/or older PC hardware. Firefox can "sense" that something is slowing down Firefox and will make an "educated guess" as to what add-on might be causing a problem.

My advice is to ignore that type of message.
