I can't download a podcast episode on Firefox after clicking on "Download this episode" (Worked on Safari)

I can't download a podcast episode from RuneSoup even after clicking on "Download this episode" It simply plays the episode. There's no download arrow on the page.

I'm running OS 10.12.6 with Firefox 56.0.1 (64-bit)

Thanks for any help

Could you try right-click (on a one-button mouse, Ctrl+click), then Save Link As? That would work with an ordinary link but might not work with a button that runs a script.

Is this an audio file, like a .mp3? Often that will be indicated in the address bar if Firefox has left the download page and loaded the media directly.

If you do not want Firefox to play MP3s or other media files that it knows how to play in the "stand alone player," you can disable that feature. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste stand and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the media.play-stand-alone preference to switch the value from true to false

Then when you click a link to the media, Firefox hopefully will present the Open/Save/Cancel dialog like it does for other kinds of downloads. Media embedded in a page should still play normally in the page's player.

Does it work for the podcasts you want to download?
