my email lists are not working in TB
Since last week I cannot send email to my email lists. I get an error message and they won't send, If I break down the list into 2 parts (about 17 contacts each) they will go thru, Sometimes the email shows up in my Sent folder but none of the recipients have received the email. Why is this happening?

"The size of the message you are trying to send exceeds a temporary size limit of the server. The message was not sent; try to reduce the message size or wait some time and try again. The server responded: 4.1.1 requested action aborted: try again later - POL503."
My message was not that large. I tried sending to the list with only 'test' as the message and received the same error.
That indicates the outgoing server settings in Thunderbird are not set to use authentication so the SMTP server has a temporary size of Zero. Confusing, but what servers send back is sometimes simply unfathomable.
Right click your account in the folder pane and select settings Scroll to the bottom of the account settings list to outgoing server (SMTP) select your outgoing account and edit it. turn on the Authentication method to Normal Password. Enter the password when you are prompted on sending. It will almost certainly be the same one you use to get mail.
All my account settings were correct so I think this may be a problem with my server. Thanks for your input.
