Hi everyone,

For some unknown reasons, I can't get the password manager visible when I enter a new password on a web site. So no password recorded and I have to fullfil all the information every time I need to enter into my accounts. I tried to restart FF with the safe mode enabled, all add-ons turned off. That doesn't work better. I use AVIRA antivirus, FF 45.0, Win 10 (64). It seems I don't have a software which could create a problem. I have no idea where the problem is... Moreover, I can't find any topic relating to my precise case on the forum.

If someone has an idea, please, let me know. I would appreciate. Thanks in advance. Kind regards,

Hi John99, yetiputer,

Once again, thanks a lot for your help, I appreciate! ;-)

Avira antivirus and its bundled softwares: I have disabled Avira Antivirus, the Firewall and the Avira navigator protection and have entered into my LinkedIn account. Firefox didn’t ask me to memorize my password, it didn’t displayed the password manager. So Avira seems not to be responsible for interfering with Firefox. The next step should be to uninstall Avira and to install another antivirus software like Avast or AVG, but I can’t for the moment.

Reset the Master Password: I did it, no improvement. Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles: “firefox.exe –P” opens just a new window on my computer. You wrote: “Accept the default location offered and choose some short name such as new-one-2016”. Firefox didn’t asked me to accept a default location or to choose a name, a new windows were opened as if I clicked the Firefox launching icon. Obviously, Firefox had the same behavior, no password manager displayed. For your information, I can enter into the password manager window in order to see all the passwords which should be recorded. In my case, this window is empty.

Cookies. I can’t delete the cookies being into Firefox, with the Firefox tool. I can delete the cookies with Google Chrome.

Clean Re-Install: I have reinstalled Firefox following the written process, no improvement.

Firefox repair: I have repaired Firefox with the Firefox site, just after having written my text here-above, as a last chance. The password manager WORKS fine now!!!! It asks me the passwords and I can see them in the password manager window…

THANKS!!!! Have a nice day! Didier33

Didier33,

You could try installing the Addons again. It is probably best to add them back one at a time. Your question includes details of the plugins you used:

Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 15.10.20056
   Google Update
The plugin allows you to have a better experience with Microsoft SharePoint
The plugin allows you to have a better experience with Microsoft Lync
NVIDIA 3D Vision Streaming plugin for Mozilla browsers
NVIDIA 3D Vision plugin for Mozilla browsers
   Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0
   VLC media player Web Plugin
   mydlink services plugin

Such plugns are separate programs installed on your computer that Firefox interacts with.

You did not list the Firefox addon extensions you were using.

Hi John99,

Very interesting information. I keep it in mind. Thanks!

I have installed some of the addons I had: AnonymoX, Adblock Plus, Adblock Plus PopUp Addon and Video DownloadHelper. So far, I have no problem.

About the other add-ons, not listed in the Firefox site, I will install them when necessary due to lack of time currently, but as soon as I install one of them, I will let you know.
