getting unwanted notifications from d35nd28hubcc73d4frm0.spanchaintech claims its from Mozilla Firefox telling me Trojan Virus detected! System alert! McAfee license expired! and tries to direct me to a site taking payment to upgrade my McAfee account My McAfee account has not expired Running a scan reveals no viruses or problems BUT - I can't find how to get rid of the notifications How do I get rid of the notifications?

Are these small popups on the bottom right corner of Firefox windows? if so then these are likely web push notifications from sites you have allowed to send you notifications. Instead of useful information, some may send you junk, spam, fake virus/trojan alerts etc. You can revoke these sites from sending you notifications as you can see in second link below.
