After returning from a 6 day vacation, my wife attempted to download email from her Yahoo email account. There are nearly 200 messages that have piled up but they aren't moving. I've uninstalled and re-installed TB. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app password in Yahoo. There is no problem with accessing the email via any web browser. I spent 49 minutes on a tech support call with Yahoo and they have said the problem is with TB because they repeated the same steps I have. I checked firewall settings and the only antivirus program on the computer is Malware Bytes and it's not running in the background.

The version of TB is the most recent as of yesterday. I don't see any sketchy looking emails in the web version of Yahoo Mail when it's opened. It's set up as a POP3 account and has been since Cox Internet gave their email over to Yahoo. I'd appreciate any assistance in resolving this because it's currently above my pay grade and tech support at Yahoo.

This problem has not been resolved but continues. Please tell me in plain English what I can do to correct it, other than to abandon Thunderbird.

I'd be v grateful for help as this problem's in an email needed for me to sue for libel.

I drafted an email containing >50 screenshots, but not as attachments. Current download speed 257Mb/s.

Looking at it just now, it's saved with many instances saying "may be an image of text that says" followed by a description. Or as attached.

I thought that if I sent it to myself it may display correctly, but it doesn't. There's no notification bar.

I have the following settings: • View > Display Attachments Inline: checked. • Privacy settings > Allow remote content in messages: checked (no exceptions).

I use IMAP to grab my mail, if that's important.

In the last couple of days, my normal method of deleting messages from my Inbox, right-clicking on the message and selecting the trash can icon, has stopped working: the message disappears for a moment, then reappears. I can delete it by dragging it to the Trash folder in the folders pane on the left.

I've followed the instructions given in several postings here, including deleting the Trash and trash.msf files, doing that and then creating an empty txt file called Trash (no .txt), and using Repair Folder.

It just now occurred to me to disconnect from the Internet and try to delete a message. It worked fine?!

This started happening a day or so ago... When I type part of an email address, Tbird shows all email addresses starting with it. Now the length is as long as the screen.. Any ideas? Thanks.

Mozilla Thunderbird stopped responding, tried to shut down, restart, uninstall and install - nothing helps Still opens the window, but no messages white backgoround and (Not Responding)

This post is to inform others that release 153.1.0esr finally fixed this previously unresolved issue with spam filters in unified folder mode for me. Up to 140.14.0esr the problem persisted.

I cannot see any other relevant variables in my setup that would have changed concurrently so I am assuming a now fixed underlying software bug as the cause.

This past week I started having a problem accessing URL's embedded in my emails from the Thunderbird interface. When clicking on the URL reference, nothing happens. I have not changed anything in my settings recently. Running Windows 7. I know my email server is working since this works when using my AT&T mail handler. I did have an issue with a Trojan virus that was cleared up with Malware program (i hope). I checked all the parameters of my mail handler and saw nothing that might cause this problem.

It's very odd. Normally moving an email, say from the Inbox to the relevant year's archive, takes "no time at all".

Which is true for all the mailboxes shown on the attached screenshot, EXCEPT for the four at the bottom. Moving even one message from Inbox to Yiddish can take ten seconds or longer (with the dreaded "Not Responding" occasionally). Moving something in the opposite direction is also screwy, only from those four.

I had thought that it was because they're rather large. This first started when there were just Yiddish and MSW, and I split off most of the earlier years into the archives shown. To no avail.

It's only an annoyance, but I'm puzzled about how such a thing could happen.

Also very slow tagging or untagging a message just in those mailboxes.

I am unable to send email. I either get this error message: 'Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com timed out. Try again. The settings are: Description: Outgoing Server Type: SMTP Outgoing Server Server Name: netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com Port: 465 User Name: gene@genemaas.net Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: SSL/TLS Successfully established a secure connection to netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com:465.

I get the same error using Port 587 and STARTTLS

I have also been asked for a password to connect to: netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com I have never needed a password before and I do not have a password.

I do receive emails.

My Thunderbird email account developed a problem, emails would download but contained no content. The same emails on on my provider's web site (Spectrum.com) did contain content. I want to fix this problem.

A few days ago I sent emails and did not see the usual "Saving to Sent (IMAP)". Instead it said something like saving to Sent folder. That's fine, but the emails didn't appear in my Thunderbird Sent folders. I downloaded Thunderbird to see if my version was obsolete. Still no emails in Sent folder. The internet said I could delete my Sent folder, and Thunderbird would re-establish Sent folder. It did not. I can still see my old emails in my Local Thunderbird sent mail, so I deleted about 100 old emails in case the folder was too full. Still, the new emails I was sending did not appear. I checked with a few recipient people and they told me the email go to them. I have tried all the "solutions" I can find. What else can I do to see copies of my outgoing emails.?

I cannot sign in. My login information is 100% correct. I just created the email a week or so ago so I assume i have the latest version. I signed in a few days ago with no issue. I tried clearing cache. Not sure where to go from here.

I can send emails but I cannot receive them. I can receive them at Spectrum.net. The problem started the evening of the 26th. Everything was fine during the day. But in the evening I could no longer get email. I am not aware of making any changes to either Thunderbird or to Spectrum. I did call Spectrum but they could not find any problem on their end. I recently changed the password in Spectrum but Thunderbird has the updated password. All of the settings in Thunderbird look right. Any ideas on what I should do?

I have Thunderbird 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. When I opened Thunderbird this morning, it originally gave a message that the connection to the email server had failed. Before I had time to look into this, it downloaded a number of emails without headings and sometimes without text. However, Thunderbird on my Android phone, I discovered subsequently, had downloaded all the messages correctly. The problem seems to have now corrected itself for subsequent emails, but is there some way I can force the download of these previous incomplete emails? Also, this is a very recent update to Thunderbird - I think it was installed in the last few days. Is it a problem with the update and is it likely to occur again?

Hi, I've been back to Thunderbird since May, and while I'm happy to be moving away from gmail.com I find the experience with thunderbird a little disjointed and frustrating.

And it would be fine if it was not also sluggish.

I have approx 100'000 emails in All mail, 15'000 mail in inbox,203 mail folders and 160 email rules each with about 3 sub-rules each.

When I get a 2 Factor message sometimes it only take 10 seconds, sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes it never appears until I press the "check mail" button, it's never clear what "check mail" even is doing, if anything at all.

My computer is a 16 core Ryzen 5950x with 64gb ddr4 and it is otherwise very fast and I don't have any crapware installed like "mcaffee anti virus" or whatever.

I can't tell but it feels like it is applying every rule to every email in "All Mail" every single time and I'm pretty sure that is why it is so slow.

However the interface is very obtuse about what it is doing, so I have a hard time finding what the problem is.

Now, I am not going to delete my messages and I am not going to have fewer rules. but I think the rules should only be applies to newly received messages and that should only take milliseconds. Also, it should be easy to tell, what it is doing and how much time that takes ?

It would feel a lot less sluggish if I was able to see what it is doing and be to tell if it is doing something or just hanging, it is very frustrating to wait and not even be sure if anything is happening at all !

And I greatly suspect that my problem is that it is applying All rules to All mail, not just the new mail, and if that was fixed and the activity manager made more descriptive and responsive, it would not feel so slow and frustrating and I would know what to change to make it faster !

But right now, if I didn't have such distaste for google, I would just go back to gmail which never made me wait more than 2 seconds for anything.

Thunderbird was not working from 8/20 to 8/25. Started working again 8/25. Yesterday, 8/28, once again not loading emails from Spectrum. No error msgs coming up. Just nothing. Anyone else having this?

Last week for 4 days I was w/o email because of Spectrum!! They refused to acknowledge they had a problem with third party emails. They finally did fix the problem and it worked really well. Then a couple of days ago, I was again without email. Difficult or near impossible to contact Spectrum to get any kind of answer. What to do????
