I cannot open Thunderbird on my personal computer, but on my Iphone it works

volker.jenisch

I cannot open the email program with Thunderbird, I have trie to open it by pressing Shift and Thunderbird Icaon, thus the Repair menu opens, I have tried every combination in that , like starting in the secured modus, but it did not help, I have tried to delete the "parent-lock" data in %appadat%\Thunderbird\Profiles\ - it said that I cannot delete it,because it is opened in Thunderbird. Would you kindly help me? Thank you very much

I don't know this "Repair Menu" you mention. Normally, when you Shift-click on the Thunderbird icon in Windows, you get the Troubleshoot Mode dialog box (see attached image.)

It sounds to me like Thunderbird has crashed but has left a phantom process in memory. Rebooting the computer should clear that out. If you find that it doesn't, you may have Windows' "Fast Startup" feature turned on. This can be a problem because processes can persist between Windows sessions. Here's an article about how to disable that feature:

(The iPhone part of your question isn't relevant because it's a different computer, and it's not running Thunderbird.)

THe user is indeed attempting troubleshoot mode. But Version 149.0 is many months old.

Unless you are running the esr version, suggest you download the newer version from https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/download/release and install.

If it still fails, try Windows started in Safe Mode
