Seem to have encountered an issue with thunderbird and ZoneAlam

Ian Shirtcliffe

Recently purchased a new HP laptop. And installed my ZoneAlarm without issue. Then downloaded Thunderbird and installed it. On opening ZA went berserk constantly alerting every few seconds saying there was a Bot. See attached screenshot from the last instance of this. Deleted Thunderbird and the problem disappeared. Was the problem actually caused by Thunderbird and have you any idea what was trying to access the website in the screenshot and what the website is that it was trying to access?

- Who is your email provider? Did you get as far as setting up your email account in Thunderbird?

I don't know what's going on, but the URL shown in your screen shot at oxcs.net is not in any way associated with Thunderbird. Where did you get the installer for Thunderbird? Did you download it from the official source at <https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/> ? If not, you may have downloaded a hacked installer.
