What happened to the useful top right window box for attachments on my outgoing emails, can I return it? It's gone to the bottom and is really annoying, I mean who decides these useless and unhelpful changes?

Mine's still on top R. corner. What happens in Troubleshoot mode?

So when you add an attachment, it does show at the bottom of the email, it still shows in the window at the top right?

I unerstand that you mean the attachment box (and not the attachment button) in the top right corner o a "write" window as shown in my picture Since version 91 it has been moved from the top right corner to the bottom https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-thunderbird-91#w_new-user-interface-for-adding-attachments

Maybe one could replace it to the top with some userChrome.css . ..
