I am currently using Windows 11 and Firefox 145.0.2 on my desktop computer. Firefox is set as my default browser. Since the latest Firefox upgrade, the "Downsize/Minimize/Exit" toolbar does not appear upon opening and the only way I can close the program is to go to File<Exit, but I still have no way to downsize to share my screen with other applications. I sometimes have to open and close the program a couple of times before the Minimize toolbar appears. I already tried Firefox "Refresh" but the issue is still happening. </p>

Hi there,

First, a temporary workaround: you should be able to right-click the Firefox icon (or a window preview, if you have multiple windows) in the taskbar and select Minimize/Restore/Close. What you're facing is obviously a bug, though. Could you please try creating a new Firefox profile and see if the issue persists there? In case you use about:profiles, make sure to set your current profile as default again.

I have the same problem on my desktop computer. I can't find a Firefox icon to click on in the taskbar or a window preview. I did create a new Firefox profile and that has the minimize option in it. It appears that I will lose all my bookmarks and other settings if I use the new profile so I don't want to make it the default. Any other suggestions?

Hey David,

I haven't suggested it to the OP because they have already refreshed Firefox, but could you please try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode (with your old profile)? In case the issue disappears in this mode, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.

If Troubleshoot Mode doesn't help, you can move to the new profile, transferring all your data. Please see Restore bookmarks, passwords, and data from an old Firefox profile for details. I recommend checking the issue hasn't reappeared after pasting every single file.
