Hi, I hope a person who is smarter than me can help with this issue.

I use the calendar feature of TB (I think it's called Lightning). I'm using TB 45.4.0 on a Mac. The calendar is synced with my Google calendar. I don't create any events on Lightning - I just sync it with my Google calendar.

An event reminder popped up for a meeting that I had this morning, and I can't dismiss it. I have clicked repeatedly on Dismiss button and on the Dismiss All button, and it the reminder dialog box does nothing. If I click on the red button to close it, the reminder box opens back up in 5 minutes.

This is a new problem. I have been able to dismiss meeting reminders prior to today. I can't think of any changes I have made in the past few days (except for a TB software update) that might affect the function of the event reminder.

So, does anybody have any suggestions for how to fix this?

Thanks, Clint

Just wondering if this question has been posted on the forum. I entered the title of this post in the forum search field and this post didn't appear in the search results. Do I need to take an extra step to get this question posted on the forum?

One more bit of information: I can't snooze the dialog box either.

This dialog box has been in my face for a day and a half! Please help!!!

BTW, this post still doesn't appear when I search for it in the forums. What's up with that?

Your message is here. The easiest way to get back to a message on this forum is to click the "reply" button in the notification email message. If you don't want to keep on doing that, make a note of the URL.

I have had an issue similar to yours, but in my case it was related to someone using Outlook to send out invitations. I can't remember what I did to fix it. So I don't qualify as "a person who is smarter than me". :-(

Maybe...Tools|Options|Calendar|Alarms and clear "Show missed reminders" will help.

"Tools|Options" won't be right for you; aha! It's "Thunderbird|Preferences" on the Mac. See this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac

Is this an event you set up yourself, or someone else's?

Thanks for replying Zenos.

I went to Thunderbird | Preferences | Calendar, and confirmed that "Show missed reminders" is checked.

The event that I couldn't dismiss (or snooze) was created by another person in Outlook. I received the event invitation in an email in Thunderbird and accepted it.

When the reminder dialog box popped up (15 minutes before the meeting), that's when trouble started. I couldn't dismiss or snooze the dialog box. This is the first time that has happened, and I have accepted many other meeting invitations sent via Outlook.

One difference that I can think of in this situation: The invitation was for a weekly recurring meeting. Is it possible that is what made the dialog box get weird?

For a day and a half, I kept clicking the little red circle to close the window of the dialog box. Then 15 minutes later (not 5 minutes) it would reappear and I would click the red circle to close it again. That quickly became irritating.

Yesterday afternoon (about a day and a half after the meeting), I clicked on the red circle to close the dialog box and it didn't come back. (Woohooo!) But I don't consider that a solution to the problem. I was never able to dismiss the reminder.

Does this additional information give you any ideas about the cause of the problem and how to solve it?

This problem has occurred again. It appears to be related to this weekly recurring meeting. I can snooze or dismiss reminder dialog boxes for other events. But I can't snooze or dismiss the dialog box for a weekly meeting I have on Tuesday mornings.

I can close the dialog box by clicking on the little red circle, but 15 minutes later it pops up again. It will do this all day and into tomorrow. Very distracting.

HELP!!!!
