Mozilla firefox doesnt seem to recognise & update some plugins which i would have thought were common? google earth v 7.1.2.2041;msoft office 2013 v 15.0.4514.1000; google update v 1.3.27.5 and service manager. Any comments or advice on these?

While plugins are in the Add-ons Manager, Firefox has nothing to do with those programs. To keep plugins up to date, you have to run the update for those programs from their own control panels.
