youtube watched history not working

Since weeks it's won't update watched history. Restored a working copy Windows 7 64 bit from several months ago. But after some updates it also stopped the history. It's not a Firefox 32 bit or Waterfox 64 bit issue or Google Chrome I think. They all show the same problem. At first Waterfox was updating the history, Chrome would not. But now all versions frequently fail. Only after several tries a single video may be updated. Further the repeat of already viewed videos won't be placed at the top of the list as they should be. Tried everything, clearing cookies and cache, more intensive cleanup tools, nothing helps. So I think that it's again a Youtube bug.

Therefore (if it happens with all browsers) it is a youtube problem.

You can try to reload to bypass the cache.

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:

  • Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.

OR

  • Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
  • Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)

Let us know if this solves the issues you are having.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

After at least 2 reload retries each time, it indeed updated watched history, also in Chrome.

So it may point to a specific problem within Youtube itself, who continuously rebuilds it's pages or options thereby creating new problems or disrupting bugs.

Thanks Waka for your reply, it gives me at least an option to view my updated watched video list.
