Hi,

I have such problem: - I copied profile as backup (I hope it is my most recent profile...) - I formatted disk - I copied this profile into AppData\...\Profiles directory - I used firefox.exe -p but it has NOT shown my recent profile, so I copied sqllite and this second file to the newly created profile (replacing the existing files with the old ones) - I have successfully reached the goal - bookmarks are visible

BUT: I've noticed that NOT ALL bookmarks are visible. I used Xmarks to synchornizing them but it also show NOT ALL OF THEM (bug probably... I hope). But I also used FF sync... and now I have to enter some code that I don't know -> how can I get it from the files of my old profile ? Also I incidentally generated new code but before it has finished I cancelled it - so I hope I haven't lost my already sychronized bookmarks.

Questions: 1. How can I show my bookmarks - for example through the web page ? 2. How can I get a code o Sync from the files of my copied profile ? 3. How can I request of restore from backup or sth my bookmarks that I could accidentally delete from Sync server ?

Once you create a new sync key, and it sounds that you did that, then the data on the sync server that was saved with the old sync key is removed and lost.
So it won't help if you would recover the previous sync key from that old profile.

You can find the sync password and the sync key in the password manager on the computer where you originally created that sync account (email).
You will have to recover key3.db ans signons.sqlite to recover the passwords.

Look for:

  • chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password)
  • chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)

You can try to recover the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
