I have tried the suggestion for importing "Bookmarks" from I.E. but it doesn't do it.

When I try to import "Bookmarks" from I.E. It finishes and comes back saying that "Favorites" have imported. I want "Bookmarks". I see nothing in the "Import from I.E." box. This is very frustrating. Not user friendly.

Try this:

In IE: File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

then in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file
