No answer providecd to an 'asked and closed' question I have. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1139209?page=2#answer-923676
This page expresses that it has the answer to a problem I share with the OP. Except, OP failed to actually post the answer and archiver was too lazy to check that it was answered in text and not just in the mind of the OP, and so he effing closed the question without an actual answer on it!!
---The following is word for word what is marked as the solution except I capitolized the key portion:

How do i get the URLS?
I meant this list:
Okay, THANKS FOR THE TIP. It's extracted the session files, but what now? It shows Session Contents, Window 1, 2, and 3.
Doesn't the page list the URLs (addresses) for each tab in each of those windows?
Are those the addresses you've been looking for? If they are not the right addresses, try Method #2 with a different old session file. Read this answer in context 1"
When you go to read the answer in context you get this:

Notice something is missing?? How about the effing 'TIP' which is regarded as THE THING which solved his problem and gave him the answer! How about method #1 and method #2 for the fucking win?? Nope, not there either. Why is the very answer missing the tip which made it an actual answer?? How can these following exchanges be deemed relevant and thus are archived, when the answer to the question wasn't even saved??!:
"Question owner
No, in the first one it didn't but the other I tried did. Now I'll try and see if it works."
"Question owner
Thanks so much jscher2000 for dealing with me and heling me get my tabs back. Really, i don't know what i would have done. Once again, thanks so much. When i have another question, i'll come straight to you."

Hopefully it's a simpler and less stressful question next time. Either way, I encourage using the forum to take advantage of volunteers in different time zones with different schedules."
If you spent less times stroking each other you might realize you are letting the whole community down by not doing better at making sure the answer is selected AND archived!
I don't even know what to do here. I just made an account to tell you how retarded this is! How can you be a moderator/answerer of a site when your sole purpose is to record the answers before closing the question so that if someone needs the answer, it can still come because the question remained open. Now, since it is marked as 'answered' by some idiot who didn't even check to see if there WAS an answer, there is no available solution the the goddamn problem!! Are you a bunch of monkeys?
What am I supposed to do? This is so retarded.

hi, questions on this site get automatically archived after 6 months of inactivity. the best way to get help is to just open a new question stating your problem and with less insults please. thank you!
How can an automatic archiving system only archive half of the exchange?
That doesn't make any sense at all. If you guys (generalizing, but if it does not apply to you then I am not speaking about you) don't actively choose what gets saved then how can part of the answer be missing? You mean to tell me someone got an answer without there being text on the screen or logged data for posting messages and replies? That somehow the blank white space of the unanswered question told them how to solve the problem? That doesn't make any damn sense.
I could use less insults if the person did there job. I guess you are telling me there is no point to save an answer to a problem because it somehow makes more sense to waste everyone's time asking another one? Another one needing someoneelses time to troubleshoot, answer and followup? That is actually what you want this help forum to become? That sounds so stupid and, I am positive, counter to mozilla's intention!
They want to save resources by having users find answer to already asked questions. That is why they are effing archived! That is the entire point of archiving! You mean to tell me the archiving is for the purpose of someone going back to see a solution they already personally got from the site? Why wouldn't they just remember the solution? Why can't they save the solution on their own computer? Why do they need it saved for them by mozilla on mozilla servers? Oh, you meant to tell me it's for the question answer-er that the inquiries and solutions are archived? So that the answer-ers can have the answer they already know by heart and gave to the OP?
See how you make no sense dude?
I am just trying my best to conceive of how this isn't some truman show joke on me about how you can mess with me by tainting the effectiveness of a very helpful and widely used service like mozilla support forum.
I don't want to be upset. I don't want to cause problems. In fact I was on my own little corner of the internet minding my own business when the browser crashed. Bad enough that it does this multiple times a day, but to find that now I have such a gd mess to deal with in just trying to find a simple solution to my annoying problem and now I have you telling me it is somehow supposed to be this way? That it was INTENDED??!.. It's like trump being president, you're just waiting for the punch line because this couldn't possibly be real right?
I mean what service does archiving provide if the answers are not archived -with- the questions AND the questions are expected to just be asked redundantly again and again and again so that there are hundreds of the same answers to the same problem?! AND the answerers expect that this is a worthwhile service to flood the mozilla help forum with useless redundancies?? How can you guys be this insane? Literally I am asking, how can you be this not sane? That is, how can you do these actions which are not sensible or reasonable actions and yet think you are sane/be sane, that there is no issue in the head?
I am autistic so I understand if I seem offensive, although to me, I am only qualifying what I think I see and inquiring about it. I am not trying to hurt your feelings; i am trying to emphasize the extent to which this follows no inherent logic and certainly goes counter to the desired mozilla logic of keeping a damn archive!
I am honestly just trying to understand what you guys think you're doing so that I can be less frustrated by it and be more accepting of the fact that it is this way. But until my questions are answered it's hard to conclude anything other than it is a trick or a joke on me, which is highly improbably due to all of the impracticalities, and that you(the qualified) are just an insane person who does not understand what they are doing.
I am sorry that this reality seems to create a divide between us. I wanted to just go to a page and read an answer to a problem I was having. Turns out there is a lot more wrong in the world than just my small problem and it is that insane people are answer/providing solutions to questions and problems of genuine honest just trying to help themselves type people.
You can ignore me if you like, I am just honestly trying to get an effing grip right now! This seems insane to me. And I do not understand.
So, not only is there no solution to an answered problem but you are telling me the entire notion of archiving is just a joke on mozilla, since the archives are not maintained properly due to users being encouraged to make redundant queries?
That sounds like a lot of help!
I guess I just don't understand what is the word support? Is it nothing? Didn't get a lot of support from you at all. I guess I just don't understand what is the word answer. It must mean nothing here since no one gave an answer.
Why is it so hard to simply explain the sense behind your actions? I mean I just don't understand that. Are you doing things for reasons you don't want people to know about? I just don't understand what is wrong with answering my questions. I explained what happened and why I was inquiring. I responded specifically what you said explaining it was not a helpful answer and that I could not understand it. That I could not extract the sense from it. Why can you not share with me what is on your mind when you are doing the help forum so I can get a better answer? I just don't understand dude..
Apparently when you copy/pasted the link and posted it in your subject line, you did not notice the page=2 part?
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1139209?page=2#answer-923676
There are page number links at the bottom of any multipage thread to go to the other pages. That should allow you to get the full context.
ALSO, I'm the jscher2000 mentioned in the other thread, so if you have a question, you have my attention. But PLEASE make the questions shorter as it is late at night here.
If you are trying to recover lost tabs from a previous session, please follow these instructions:
Check the History Menu
On the History menu, is Restore Previous Session available? If so, try that. If it's grayed out, does the menu list any closed windows you can re-open? Each window will have its own list of closed tabs you can re-open.
Back up Session History Files
Open your Firefox profile folder using either
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Open Folder" / "Open Directory" / "Show in Finder" button (varies depending on your OS). That will pop open your system's file browser.
In your profile folder, scroll down and double-click into the sessionstore-backups folder. Save all files here to a safe location, for example, your Documents folder. If not too much time has passed, we may be able to use them to recover your lost tabs.
Check File Contents
The kinds of files you may find among your sessionstore files are:
- recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your currently live Firefox session (or, if Firefox crashed at the last shutdown and is still closed, your last session)
- recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
- previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last Firefox session
- upgrade.js-build_id: the windows and tabs in the Firefox session that was live at the time of your last update
You can view the contents of a file by dragging and dropping it onto the blank text area of my Scrounger tool: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/scrounger.html
Once you see the text in the box, click the Scrounge URLs button.
Can you find what you're looking for?
