I have installed the Spanish language Pack (Spain) add on and restarted Firefox. When I am working on a document and it highlights the spelling error I go to dictionaries and Spanish does not appear. Only English. I have tried to install about 5 times and it does not work. I had three language packs working perfectly with 38.

HI JBCR, Does this happen on a particular sites, or all sites?

I cannot get them to work in gmail, facebook or twitter. However after talking to the add on admin, he mentioned that there is a difference between the two. Did you install the dictionary as well?

Any site I try the language pack does not show up.

ejemplo aqui estoy escribiendo en Espanol y no puedo escoger la opcion de corregir.

When the misspelled words are highlighted above I right click on the word and then on languages and it has the option to add a language pack. I do that, then restart Firefox and it is not there.

Install the dictionary and it should work.

A language pack doesn't include a Spanish dictionary, it is only for the Firefox user interface.

Did you verify that the Spanish dictionary is installed?

If you reset (refresh) Firefox then you create a new profile folder and need to reinstall all extensions and dictionaries.

Do you have a dictionary installed and selected?

You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu. At least one dictionary should be installed and have a check mark to indicate that it is selected.

  • Open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.
  • Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu is check-marked.

You can enable or disable spell checking globally:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"

You can look here for dictionaries:
