I'm not anywhere close to understanding how to change anything (not technology-suave) so need BIG help on getting rid of ad popups when I'm on email account!

I love Firefox and until lately (before I had to replace my old STOLEN laptop with a new one) and using Yahoo... I have been plagued with hundreds of popup ads! Don't like GOOGLE... think they may be BIG BROTHER!

HELP (simple instructions only for an 80 year old)!

I recently switched from Brave to FF. An annoying problem is that whenever I click web links in external programs such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook etc Firefox always opens it in a new window instead of a new tab like Brave did. Also the window it opens does not have my extensions enabled, indicating that it is some form of incognito or web view window or something? These are my settings.

How can I solve this issue?

Hello, as of yesterday, I noticed that my Google searches were displaced by ads. If I search something, Google would normally display a short summary and a little piece of information at the top of the page, but instead the first ~10 results are all ads, one of the top ones always being yahoo.com. Same goes for searching for translations "[Any word] + language" normally results in the translation tool being displayed at the top, but again just ads.

I have scanned my PC for viruses (with the Windows Defender and Bitdefender) but at least they didn't find anything. When I deactivate all my extensions (Which is only Adblocker, ironically), nothing changes. When I browse in Safe Mode, the ads do not appear. I have already cleared my Cache etc. but that didn't do too much. No I installed a Scriptblocker and with that, Google is back to normal again. But of course, even if that workaround works, I'd also like to know what is causing this. (I also checked with Chrome for example, the problem is Firefox specific)

Any ideas what I could try next or what the problem might be?

I'm also having trouble with the browser: when I left my desk this morning for a 1/2 hour and came back, the history showed places I had not visited nor would I. Have you seen that before? Nancy

Suddenly today my browser had switched any current tab to the bottom of my window, but it also only lets me see one at a time..which means I can't see multiple tabs open unless I close the current one. My tab bar is gone entirely and was up-top as it's always been, just under the URL box.

I didn't hit any key combos that I know of that would cause this, and I can't seem to find anyone else with the same problem when I search for a solution. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?? It's very odd and annoying, I've never had it happen before now..

I was forced to upgrade when FF crashed the other day, and now all of my windows are sorted alphabetically. This was exactly the behaviour that caused me to switch from Chrome to FF in the first place. I *HATE* having my windows sorted alphabetically. I have certain windows that remain open all the time, and they remain at the top of my Window menu drop-down, for easy access. (Hence, chronological by when the window opened, the old default behaviour.) Now, FF "helpfully" changes the window position every time I change tabs, and I can't find anything. I mentally sort windows by subject matter, not by the name displayed on the tab. I have tens of windows (20-30 typically) open at any given time. This makes it literally impossible to use the Window menu anymore, and I have to tab through open windows searching for what I need.

Mozilla, please make this a configurable option. It was really horrible of you to enforce this on us, just because some squeaky-wheels decided they preferred alphabetical sorting. They clearly are not power users, and this change has crippled those of us who are.

Someone broke into my firefox. A ex friends through into my face stuff she could only know if she or someone broke into my firefox history.

I deleted firefox browser on both my android and pc's and am brokenhearted because I checked it and it brought back memories going back to 2011.

I want this person who did this for her. The broke into my google, laptop, pc. She's pretty and rediculuos manipulitieve.

I've tried tech guys, computer stores, web sites. They want me delete everything and start over. I don't want to loose decades of memories. I have a vpn and they keep breaking into my phone and pc's.

Is there a goverment contractor worker that does this stuff on the side? I want to find them. I bought Audibles and Kindles on dark web to see if anyone there can help, and will read for next 10 years if I have to in order to find them. Need suggestion.

Every day when I go to work with my laptop which has Fedora 36 installed, I open up Firefox in order to fill the "IT Checklist" where I need to visit a couple of local intranet websites in order to fill upbound threshold and inbound threshold.

I see weird Firefox behavior when it comes to, "Firefox remembering past logins". Let's say, I went to a website that has a URL like 20.200.30.200, and a password 1234.

Every time I try to log in to this website, Firefox asks if I want to update my password !! Something which I don't understand. Neither I am changing the password, nor I have written a different password to update with.

Every time Firefox try to update the password of this website with a random long string of character, which is out of my mind. I have to be careful each time and press "Don't Update" option.

On a normal website (let's say Facebook.com) there is no such problem. But when it comes to a local website, Firefox behaves very differently.

There is another website called 20.0.20.1. Its username is root and the password is 4321. But when I try to login in, only the password section is auto-filled, the username section needs to manually be written. Even though about:logins see both domains saving their respective username and password, when it comes to serving users, it sucks misbehave a lot.

Clearly, there is a fundamental problem in Firefox when it comes to handling how logins are saved and served to the user.

I really hope that Firefox 109 fixes this issue and handles the local website properly.

Is there a way that I can recover my New Tab page setup (just the new tab page) from a Macrium Reflect backup of my OS disk? I recently did some cleanup that cratered my FireFox profile (developer and beta also). I would like to somehow recover just the New Tab page setup from the os backup. Any solution? About 6 weeks or so ago, I began finding messages intermittently on my screen when I got up in the morning. It would state that Firefox had crashed and needed to be restarted or closed. It would transmit error information first in either case. Firefox has sent updates a few times since, and if I had the browser closed it would update upon being opened. The original problem is still there and now I have an additional problem. The first problem was a nuisance but the second is not acceptable. My email service is fastmail which I have used for many years. Sometimes I will open an email and need to click to go to another location. My problem is that I will click to do so and I get left with a blank screen and I never arrive where i am trying to go. It never reports any kind of an error. If I use Microsoft Edge everything executes as it should. That tells me there is no problem with the emails. the email provider, and takes the problem back to Firefox. When you sent an update you may have reset my settings. It seems like it sees opening the new page I am going to is likened to blocking a popup window. I am going to guess it is treating every page I attempt to open via the page I am on like a popup window. This problem is somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes it executes just fine. I get 80 to 100 emails each day and this feature not working properly is very aggravating. Example: I open a Kohls ad email or a Sam's Club ad email and click on the object I am interested in. However, all I get is a blank page and no errors reported. It may or may not execute properly if I go directly to the retailer and not through the email service. Yet it works fine if I use Microsoft Edge for the same procedure in the same email or even if I go to the retailer's webpage directly rather than through an email. Same results, Edge works fine, Firefox doesn't work. Help me out here please.

When I first open Firefox and go to my yahoo home page - I can pretty much open any page - 1st try. However, after I leave a page and try to return - no luck. Has been doing this for the last 6 months. Using Firefox on an updated Macbook pro. No problems with Safari.

Firefox on Win10 has lost all of my logins. I tried launching a new profile, but no good. In the settings "logins.json" has become "logins.json.corrupt" and renaming it does nothing. The Firefox on my two android devices still have the logins intact is there a way to send them to the Windows version?
