I have an issue with the address bar in private windows. Normally when you click on the search bar in the new tab page, it will redirect the cursor to the address bar instead of letting you use the search bar.

I found the following solution on the forum here that works for normal windows: go to the about:config page and set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false.

For private windows, this fix does not work. It will still go to the address bar instead of letting you use the search bar. Is there another way for me to fix this so that it will also work in private windows?

Can anyone help me out and others on this matter? several months ago appears FB decided to screw everyone over by arbitrarily forcing auto refresh. If you're reading something long and or have to step away for a moment it is gone.

Some have posted for chrome they have an extension that stopped it. The only one on FF does not work. I tried it, does nothing at all. Time for FF to fix this issues allowing you to turn it on or off at my will.

Hi , I often download photos from Firefox by topic to make videos. Is there any software or application on Firefox that can help me pre-name the image ?

For example: I'm looking for pictures of Trees and Sea

when I click to save image as for Sea images, it often gives random names and I end up having to rename the images to Sea-0001, Sea-0002

if a photo named Thailandbay-34636734-45747457

Therefore, my usual way is to write Sea- and copy the text

and when I save a photo when click to save image as, I will change the name in Hud , I paste it and it becomes

Sea-Thailandbay-34636734-45747457

and in my work file I'll sort the photos by name

So , is there any application on Firefox that allows me to preset the word Sea- ? That means every time I click save image as, the system will automatically name it Sea-Thailandbay-34636734-45747457

So I’m looking at a help document in a web page. It tells me to push this button or that. So I go the affected app and try to find the button mentioned in the help file. Can’t find it, so return to Firefox to re-read the help file. The window is gone. I can find the tab for it, so I can open it pretty quick, but why do I have to? Why does that window have to close? This is yet another reason to switch from Firefox to something else.

I would like to stop the continual suggestion to update my password at login, yet be able to use the saved password at login.

Would you please add this fix?

Please see the attached screenshot. I get this popup EVERY TIME I open FireFox. I've tried a number of different suggested "fixes" from Google Searches with no success.

I want this popup GONE.

I am trying to use an input type of month but it is not rendering or behaving properly when viewed in the latest browser version.

The example from Mozilla tech site is below and when viewed in Firefox it does not work either. <input type="month" id="start" name="start" />

Is this no longer supported by Firefox?

There is a very bothersome extension that affects streaming of shows on Paramount +. It keeps reinstalling itself without asking me, to I allow it. Im attaching a screenshot of the extension, including its author, etc.

Hello. The Owl Zoom add on for Firefox OSX has stopped working. No changes made to any options or add ons. Date noticed about mid- December 2023. Reverting Firefox to its state from before the issue occurred did not resolve the issue. This process does not work: "Click on 'Settings' and the pop up menu has an item for 'Zoom'. Click on 'Normal 100%' and a pop up list for several zoom values should appear but it does not appear. In addition there is no Owl Zoom icon in the video task bar. This has happened on two iMacs and one Macbook Pro at the same time so not device specific.

I have Firefox set to open on the default home page with 2 rows of shortcuts. After an update yesterday, all my shortcuts disappeared on my work computer. They are still there on my laptop however. I tried to sync, no go. I have tried to re-add the shortcuts manually and it won't save it. It is important that I fix this as I have several tabs open and signed it to different websites that I work with and this saved me a lot of time.

Am running on linux with KDE. When I press the software shutdown button in KDE, and reboot, the tabs in firefox remain, even though I disabled that from happening in settings.

Hello, Ive recently switched my primary browser from opera GX, to Mozilla Firefox. Since then I've adjusted the settings to my liking, one of which was the search engine. I chose google chrome, and it works when I open a new tab, However, When I open a new window of firefox, it always opens Bing. This is a small problem, yes, but its simple issues like this that dissuade me from wanting to use firefox at all, I would like to solve this issue, but Ive searched for answers, and there aren't any. If you help me fix this, I will keep firefox. Otherwise, I'll chose a browser that gives me the amount of control that I want. I've also attached a photo of the startup screen of firefox.

My job requires for Boolean and New String configurations inside of the about:config section of Firefox. I've been doing this manually by copying and pasting the lines, but I would like to automate this process via a .bat file if possible. I've created a .bat file for mapping network drives before but I've never created one for running a script in a browser before so I'm a noob.

I need the .bat file to convert boolean values to false and add strings. If possible, I would also like for this batch file to change the homepage to a page of my choosing. Any and all help would be appreciated, Thank You!

Is there a way for me to make custom JavaScript code to add things, like a built-in music player, to Firefox? I think it would be pretty neat if users could code their own things to add to Firefox.

As we all know you can set certain wallpapers in Chrome. But can't find any such options in the Mozilla Firefox Browser for Windows. FYI, my version is 121.0 (64-bit)

I'm having an issue with Fidelity Investments website logging me off after 5-10 minutes of inactivity. Before Fidelity's website redesign, I could go at least 30 minutes or more without having to login again. It seems now I have to login constantly.

I have contacted Fidelity, but the said it was a Firefox issue, however, I cannot find any information about this issue (or I don't know where to look).

How do I extend the time before needing to login again? Thoughts on if is this even a Firefox issue or is it Fidelity's website?
