No pages explain what sync really is. I would assume the data stored on firefox central for my account would be compared to the data (bookmarks in particualr) on the device and that the 2 lists are shared equally so both end up different from the start but the same as each other. Now I dont know and help pages do not discuss what sync actually does!

So my laptop went crazy today and the bookmarks listed suddenyl all point to totally different webpages, some of which I had visited recently but not bookmarked. It follows I have lost my bookmarks then. So I used sync, thinking it would restore my bookmarks correctly but it did not - it seems to have uploaded the new false bookmarks to Firefox, which in turn downloaded them to my other devices so, thanks to Firefox sync, I have effectively lost dozens of bookmarks across all my devices and I cannot find help which is useful.

Is there a way to restore those devices to the bookmarks stored yesterday?

Mary Pat's laptop has been having problems opening programs using Firefox. After several hours, I went to Uninstall. found the Refresh Firefox button. Used it and it seemed to work. Mary Pat went back to her computer and I came back to this computer. On my laptop I showed her how to Control Panel, Uninstall, Mozilla Firefox, Uninstall, Refresh Firefox. Now both computers are have the same intermittent problem. When I finish this question, I will try Firefox one more time. Any more Error messages opening websites including Google, Amazon, Dualingo, I will be changing to a different web browser until you can tell me you found the problem and have fixed the problem.

problem with clearing cookies and site data cpu firefox.exe rises to 60% and the browser itself starts to blunt and hang the whole process takes 15 minutes

also the question is why there is no setting where data that is more than a year itself is not deleted?

Since the latest update of Firefox I have lost the zoom in and out buttons, the 'stick man' for street view and the options for Satellite etc. Also, if I select directions I get the detial but no indications on the map. These functions all appear to be avaialble via Microsft Edge, so i assume it must be a Firefox/Google maps interaction. Any help would be appreciated - Chris Platts

How can I disable the extension group/ extension drop-down and go back the way it was and show all the extension at once like how it used to be? If not, can i know which version it was introduced so i can revert back accordingly? Thankyou

Hello, today I wanted to replace the "about:newtab" background with a picture.

I've already tried a lot like creating an extension, and adding the chrome folder with "userChrome.css" or "userContent.css" but I haven't had any luck whatsoever.

Could you help me in any way?

My preferred way would be through an extension to share it with my friends.

Not getting any sound from Firefox. All other applications are providing sound and so are other internet browsers, so the problem is purely Firefox. I had tried refreshing, but nothing is fixing the issue. Any suggestions?

Hello, I am concerned about malware from third party modules in my firefox browser. I keep getting this popup for updating firefox, even after updating i used to get this popup - I dont think Firefox update every few days. 1 website, meijer.com won't load searches for an item. If I ask for for vegetable oil or any other item, it goes to a blank page. No problem using Edge, just Firefox. I now have FF 111.0.1 but it's been going on for 2 months now so it's not just 111.0.1. I clear the cache every day, I've tried safe mode but still have the problem. Any suggestions?

When I go to a recipe blogger site, I get the "Secure Connection Failed. Contact website owners." Just how can I do that when I can't get to the site?'

I first created my FF account on the oldest laptop, then also logged the 2nd (new) on the same account.

There is no option that I can find from the account, to export the selected sync items from one, or to import them onto the other (I need to overwrite the few data there). I could not find such option within FF menu either.

Side issue: at one point, an option was visible to replace the default device names in the account... then when I wanted to do it, that option did not seem to exist any more. Do I have to remove those devices from the account if that was a one-time only option, and how?

I do not want Firefox to allow: automatically install; check for: or use a background service for updates and i hate annoying pop ups telling me about updates ≈ every week.

It also generates warnings from all my cites with new logins etc

I don't need to be up to date on all decimals! Please allow also a less annoying schedule as every major update or every 5th or 10th update like 120, 130 etc
