how do I deal with sudden fast scan of system files by Mozilla Security which then showed some 90+ infections, never before seen or heard of?

I was googling for "foot anatomy". An item on the first list showed the schematics of a foot. I clicked on it and got an enlarged image. After that s warning appeared: ""The page at http://stanreeva.ce.ms says: Mozilla Security has found critical process activity on your system and will perform fast scan of system files". I clicked OK, a scan was performed and lots of vulnerabilities shown. I initiated, then aborted the next step, NOT UNDERSTANDING WHAT I WAS DOING. (I recalled being told that instead of responding to such offers, I should go to the original website and look for Updates, etc, there.). I have had this iMac for more than 3 years; I NEVER had any such warning. I have no clue what it means or what I should do. Please help!

http://stanreeva.ce.ms/ is a Reported Attack Page.

There is no "Mozilla Security" scan - that's a fake "scan" to try to scare you into installing something that might harm your computer. See the Apple website for the latest security updates or visit a Mac Users Group for further information about what happened.

Thanks for your advice. I'm glad that I have not installed it. I'll follow your recommendations.

How does "http://stanreeva.ce.ms" suddenly jump at me? I've done my fair share of browsing and googling - this has never happened to me. Can I expect this to recur?
