This fault happens about 50% per cent of the time. I am running Win XP pro on a laptop. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing with no effect. Firefox does not appear in Task Manager. Only solution is to restart laptop. Internet Explorer still works.

Im having the same problem. It occurs at least 2 times daily and the only way to fix it is to restart my computer. I have looked in task manager and firefox is not there when it oocurs.

I have fixed this problem by creating a new profile. If that doesn't work for you, completely uninstall Firefox, removing its folders and all and then do a fresh install.

Try fixing registry errors, and try using a newer or beta version of FIREFOX. Also, to check if Firefox is REALLY working, go the task manager and go to "processes", there "firefox.exe" will be the process of Firefox running actively. If it is no visible in the task manager, try what i suggested above :) good luck!

In Task Manager go to Process and Select / Click on "Show Processes from all Users" and then Find firefox.exe and End Process. I think this should do and if it Doesn't then find the Installed Folder and then Uninstall the Firefox from Add or Remove Programs and Reinstall it. This should Solve the Problem.
