Why is the preferences popup is blank?
Firefox v3.6.12 Copied dist-file, expanded into /usr/lib/firefox.3.6.12/firefox openSuse 10.2 I select MenuBar | Edit | Preferences, and a Firefox popup is generated, but it is blank.

Sorry - forgot to say that I found this because I wanted to change userChrome.css. So empty the file then make it RO.

Ah! I had this recently when I installed Fx on SuSE 10.something.
On my system it was because qt-curve (?) wrote something into userChrome.css
Look in ~/.mozilla/firefox/xxxxxxxxt/chrome
and set userChrome.css to read only. That fixed it for me!
