Firefox for mac updates correctly, but then it behaves as if it didn't
Firefox is updated on my mac, but when I try to install add-ons, like ad blockers, or when I try to visit some websites, a message appears asking to update firefox

This is usually caused by a wrong Firefox user agent. You posted the question using Safari according to the System Details list next to the question, so we can't check the Firefox user agent.
