Where is the Speed Dial and how many slots does it have?

The same Speed Dial feature in Opera is not a native feature in Firefox, so to get as close as you can to this, you must download an add-on. Here is a recommended add-on that should be close to what you're looking for:
Alternatively, you can customize what appears on your home and new tab pages, but this will not be too close to Speed Dial. Type about:preferences#home into your address bar. Now customize these pages however you see fit.

Thanks for the good advice. Yes, it worked and I am switching over to Firefox (because poor old Opera has been sidelined by WIN10 and is badly limping). Yes, I thanked Nimbus for the app.
