I'll make this as simple as possible: I have protonmail. Whenever I sign in a box pops up that says the following: "will you allow mail.proton.com to send notifications? Learn more", then "remember my decision for this session", then "don't allow" and "allow notifications."
This box is a Mozilla - Firefox thing, not a Protonmail thing. This box is very annoying. Here is what I want: -I want this box to go away and never return. Here's my question:
How do I make this thing go away?
An image of the box can be found below.
Please! No responses about the history of notifications, or why this box exists, or the history of email, or questions about why I wouldn't want this box, etc etc etc etc etc. And especially no rude sarcastic arrogant comments such as RTFM! RTFM! . . . . . . I work for a living and I don't have time to read through instructions that would take a lifetime to read through, and frankly, the times I've actually scoured manuals thoroughly yielded no answers; the topic simply wasn't addressed. I think that's fair.
so the only answer I'm looking for is "how do I make this thing go away?" Is there something in Preferences that maybe I haven't seen? Only calm, happy, polite answers, please.

Go to about:config in Firefox, click the button that says you accept. In the search box on that page, type notifications and double click the entry labeled dom.webnotifications.enabled to set its value to false.
