I use Ubuntu 16.04..Firefox stops working and I get a "script' area and screen darkens and I have to do a hard quit. This happens almost every session. help
The question contains the details....the websites have no pattern...Washington Post, websites with current election reviews and analyses on voting amendments, eg., marijuana decriminalization and information and pro and con positions, etc., etc., no real pattern at all...pretty random...but the screen freezes and a script problem is noted and the laptop locks down (I have a Sony Vaio, F series i7 which is otherwise bullet proof....I put on chromium and repeat the websites and no problem....but, I prefer Firefoxx...

Hi
Thank you for your question.
It looks like (from the information that you have provided) that you are using a Ubuntu version of Firefox, rather than one that has been downloaded from Mozilla. Distro builds of Firefox have changes in their code that can make finding solutions a challenge, but we will do your best to help.
it would be really useful to have a screenshot of the "script area" that you mention. No guarantees we will be able to fix this, but this would certainly help us to help you.
