Hi theolaenens, Sorry you are having problems with Firefox. This sounds like a potentially serious problem, but not one I can suggest any simple solution to right now.
I suppose the good news is that you only get crashes when Firefox closes down and not otherwise. I do not know whether or not you lose information when there is such a crash but that seems possible that is bad. Very bad if it relates to secure or confidential information.
I had not heard of "belgiumeid@eid.belgium.be" It appears that this is vital software from a National Government

Secure access to online government applications, signing electronic contracts, requesting official documents or forms online… Your eID – short for electronic identity card – opens up a world of possibilities!
The old, paper identity card was only suitable for physical identification. The eID’s built-in chip also makes electronic identification and electronic signature possible. The chip contains an authentication and signature certificate, both of which you can use in combination with your PIN code. The authentication certificate is used to confirm your identity if you log on to a website with your eID. The signature certificate ensures that you can sign electronically.
This is clearly designed to work with Firefox and has instructions relating to Firefox http://eid.belgium.be/en/using_your_eid/need_help/problemen_met_de_installatie/
It is also a mozilla signed and hosted addon
- Belgium eID 1.0.18.1-signed
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/belgium-eid
Firefox Bugs have been filed previously for issues with this software but probably your best first step is to contact the softwares support site and ask them whether they are aware of the issue and whether it is being fixed. I only understand the English language and that could hamper me in trying to research this subject. The addon itself links to this support page
I note you are apparently using Windows XP, I hope the issue is not that XP is no longer supported by Belgium eID
May I suggest you contact the Belgium eID and Belgium eID addon support sites, then post back here to say what their response is.
