Seems no matter what privacy setting I try, some time later I'll be on some website & here comes a list of every word I typed in come up in the search box....No privacy in that

Does this occur even if you turn off the "Remember search and form history" feature in the Options dialog? In that case, it could be that the site remembers and displays your history on the site. (Or it could be an add-on.)

For example, if you are logged into your Google account, you may get suggestions from Web history stored in your account, and even if you are not logged in, Google may use a cookie it has set in the past to associate past searches with you. More info on Google history:

Make sure that you do not get confused by "Search suggestions".

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

Yea that option is turned off in Firefox

& I know hot to pull the search term drop down list & delete them all, but my question is why should I have to keep doing this? Shouldn't there be a Firefox setting to never save "form data"anywhere like that??

Did you disable this setting?
