Hi Herbiemb, can you use a different browser to visit the site immediately after you get the error in Firefox?
If Yes:
There might be something the site (or its security service provider) considers suspicious about your request. Sometimes this can be caused by (A) a deep link rather than going to the home page; (B) modified headers, for example, and unusual browser identification string; (C) cookies from previous visits that Firefox sends back which look odd; (D) as you mentioned, using a VPN or visiting from an unexpected part of the world; (E) bad vibes (they don't tell us everything they check).
Some possible tests:
(1) Is there any difference if you try using a private window (Ctrl+Shift+P or right-click > Open in New Private Window)? If that works, it could indicate a problem with saved cookies or add-ons that run in regular but not private windows.
To clear cookies for the site, while viewing the error page, click the shield icon at the left end of the address bar and click "Clear cookies and site data". Then try the site's home page again.
(2) Some sites share cookies among related servers in a way that is blocked by Firefox's Total Cookie Protection feature. For information on how to make an exception, see: Total Cookie Protection and website breakage FAQ.
If No:
Sometimes a website's security service will determine that a request might be coming from a bot and block access to all browsers at your IP address for a period of time. I would try again in the other browser in about 15 minutes.
i have tried it on different browsers and its fine - and ive tried it on the private window and its all good - i know its probably an addon or something thats on the normal firefox - is there a way to do a full reset for firefox?? so i can try it on it?
Yes, there is a reset that removes your extension and resets settings. But what if you just manually disable non-essential extensions and test that first? See: Review installed extensions.
