I have lost the preview feature that I formally had when I rolled my mouse arrow over the Firefox icon in the taskbar.

I previously had a feature that showed a preview pane of the sites that I had previously visited. These picture panes would appear whenever I rolled my mouse arrow over the Firefox icon in the taskbar, and allowed me to click on the picture and immediately go to that site. I have Windows 7 Home Premium as my operating system

You can check the pref browser.taskbar.previews.enable on the about:config page and set the value to true.

I don't know what you're talking about when you recommend: pref.browser.taskbar.previews.enable or where to find "about config" page. I typed everything in the address bar but came up empty. Can you be more specific? Thanks.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar like you open a website.

See:

Yes, the name of the pref is browser.taskbar.previews.enable
You can use the Filter bar at the top of the about:config to quickly locate a pref.
You can toggle a Boolean pref with a double click between true and false.
