How can I recover the bookmarks on my home computer that have been replaced by those from my office computer?

centerdanl

I have been using Firefox on my Mac computer at home and on my Windows computer at the office. Firefox started launching automatically when I booted up my office computer. This only began quite recently (since last update?). When I went to undo that setting, the browser prompted me to sign in, which had never occurred before to my recollection.

Today when I logged on to my home computer and launched Firefox, all my bookmarks had been changed to my work bookmarks.

Can my home bookmarks be retrieved?

Chosen Solution

Possibly. On your Mac, disconnect Firefox Sync first, then go to Bookmarks → Manage Bookmarks → Import and Backup → Restore and choose a backup dated before the change. Firefox keeps up to 15 automatic bookmark backups, so hopefully one still has your old bookmarks. Just remember that restoring replaces your current set, so export it first if you want to keep those work bookmarks too.
