Setup a outlook.com in Thunderbird

Thanks in advance. I'm trying to get Thunderbird setup with an outlook.com email address. All the default server settings look fine. I know the email address is good since I can login via a web browser. Cookies enabled and all the other recommended settings including app password. Yet it keeps saying Unable to log into the server. Has anyone successfully done this with the latest version of Thunderbird. I'm on Zorin 18 Pro.

Using an app password is NOT the recommended setting. You need to use OAuth authentication in connection with your main account password. See https://support.mozilla.org/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202

Thanks for you response. However I was asking has anyone successfully done this with tbird 152 recently. I've already been through that kb trying different things. I've also tried tbird for W10. Neither send (smtp) nor receive (imap) are working.
