Thunderbird forwarding

I have an email from "Wells Fargo" that would auto forward to another email. I removed the forwarding to that other email but Thunderbird keeps forwarding that email each time WF sends an update. Do I need to delete the WF filters and restart Thunderbird or is there something deeper that needs to be done? Thanks for your help kenb

Now my TB will neither send or receive. I wish to keep my care4free email address. How can I reinstall or recover TB? At present can only send or receive using webmail but do not find this equal to TB

I was out of town for a week, away from my desktop. While traveling I was looking at my email on my Android phone, and all seemed OK. When I returned to my office this morning, my one week's worth of email did not download into Thunderbird. I noticed that there was an update to the program while I was gone. Not sure how to recapture my week of lost email?

I manage several emails through Thunderbird, the default account is my own, this is the one I am having trouble with.

1) I can send and receive emails. (this is an imap server) 2) When I added the account to Thunderbird in account settings it created the following folders/icons: Inbox Drafts Sent Mail All Mail Junk Spam Trash (with the traditional trash icon) Then the following folders: Drafts Important Starred Trash (Which looks like a windows folder) - If I have a trash can, why do I need a trash folder, I didn't create it.

I cannot delete emails from "All Mail", every time I delete one it reappears and at this point it has well over 8,000 going back to 2022. Most of which I don't need to keep any more.

If I go to google's website and log into my account I cannot delete them either! They come right back.

It's as if Google and Thunderbird are not talking to each other.

3) I've already uninstalled Thunderbird and deleted all the files from /users/myname/appdata/roaming/ Thunderbird/Profiles, ran Ccleaner, rebooted, reinstalled Thunderbird and added my mailboxes and still have the problem..

4) I've also tried to run Thunderbird without addons to no avail.

5) My other emails do not display this kind of behavior, just the on that is set as default.

If anyone has come across this please tell me what I need to do.

I have two questions.

1. Right now I cannot receive messages automatically, which always has functioned. Now I have to shut down my e-mail and then reopen it, after I´ve done that I receive new messages. But I really will receive them automatically.

2. In the map Archives have all my saved documents been missing. I have six different maps in the Archives map and all saved information are now gone.

What has occoured? I hope yo can help me.

I have used thunderbird for years. I have several email accounts on thunderbird. I own a small company with a private domain. The last [work] email both my employee and i received in Thunderbird was on 10/27/2025. The emails just stopped arriving in our inboxes. We can both access email through webmail. Personally i am still able to access all my other emails (gmail.com, comcast.net).

I checked with Hostgator and my thunderbird email settings are correct.

I did not have a SSL certificate so i have just onboarded that feature (not sure if that has any relevance to our current predicament).

Thoughts on how to troubleshoot this problem? Is it possible Thunderbird has made a recent software change?

Any ideas appreciated.

Dear Thunderbird Support Team,

When sending emails through Thunderbird, the emails are successfully sent, but they do not appear in the “Sent Messages” folder. The following error message is displayed:

“The message was sent successfully, but could not be copied to your Sent folder due to network or file access errors. You may retry or save the message locally to Sent Messages - shin955@hanbat.ac.kr

(IMAP).”

We are currently using IMAP and SMTP. On other devices and locations, the sent emails appear correctly in the “Sent Messages” folder without any errors. However, at a certain point, this issue started occurring on the system that had been working fine before — the emails send successfully, but they are no longer saved to the Sent folder.

Here are the troubleshooting steps we have already tried:

Checked and reconfigured the “Save sent messages” folder settings.

Deleted the MSF files from the App Data folder and restarted Thunderbird.

Disabled firewall and antivirus programs, then retried sending emails.

We have tried nearly all the solutions suggested online, but the issue persists. I would like to request remote assistance to resolve this problem if possible.

Sorry for the trouble, and I would appreciate your prompt response.

Mail from me is not recieved and I got no massege from any webmaster of unknown or fail delivery. Mails from the same adress are recieved by me with no problems. Hi, Using Thunderbird 140.4.0esr (64-bit). Thunderbird is not able to retrieve my inbox, but it can retrieve any other folders - both ones at top-level and ones inside Folders or Labels. I am attaching screenshots to show Thunderbird activity - I am subscribed to Inbox, and Thunderbird is retrieving messages from the many other folders of my account. Of note is that sometimes Thunderbird appears to address a folder as roy@planalp.net/<folder> and sometimes as rpplanalp@proton.me specifically, rpplanalp@proton.me/INBOX appears to be the addressing of the inbox. My original proton account was rpplanalp, before I connected my domain name.

It has worked fine for a very long time, however, started failing in the last couple weeks and in fact Inbox moved to the bottom of my folders list and I attempted to bring it up to the top. It is notable that I can get the Inbox messages if I subscribe to the All Mail folder, as a poor workaround.

So, when I try to enter my outlook account through the new account center, it just doesn't work, it keeps giving me the "Exchange auth error". I saw in other post that, for them, disabling the new account center worked, and it worked for me too, but only in parts. I now have the account on the accounts tab but it can't receive any emails and just has one "folder" (? I don't know what those are really called). Anyway, thanks for the help!

I use TBird/GMail on two Windows 11 machines - a desktop and a laptop. In my All Mail folder there many emails promoting misc items, in fact over 1000 that I do not want. I have set server settings to delete immediately but no matter how I try the deleted emails reappear. They are not in the Bin or Trash. I get the same results using either the laptop or the desktop. Any ideas?

I have a new Raspberry Pi 4; OS is version Trixie (released in Oct 2025) and I installed Thunderbird apparently successfully a couple of days ago. I had asked our admin for a new email address (just for this Raspberry Pi device) and I added it to Thunderbird apparently successfully. It successfully receives all emails.

However, sending fails with the message "login to server smtp.office365.com with username ################ failed" (the message had the correct user name)

I have retyped the password many times. No success. I have edited the SMTP server settings selecting all the Authentication Methods in turn ( no authentication; normal password; Encrypted password, Kerberos / GSSAPI, NTLM and OAuth2 which was the one Thunderbird had placed there and which google told me was the right one.)

I even tried to use smtp-mail.outlook.com as my SMTP server (Microsoft suggested this), but all to no avail. Don't think I am an expert just because I tried various things. I was getting desperate. I was supposed to deliver the device yesterday. Please help. Thanks in advance.
