I have DuckDuckGo as the search engine in my Firefox Browser. When I type a question in the screen box the words automatically populate in the address bar. How to fix?

Enter about:config in the address bar and switch browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false.
