Any chance in a standalone Thunderbird calendar application to be put into works and have the possibility to be made for Android now that Thunderbird is available on Android as well, as I think it would be really great if I could have the benefits of both the Thunderbird email client and Thunderbird Calendar at the same time which would rival against other apps like Proton Calendar and Tuta Calendar.

It could then be featured on places like:

https://www.privacyguides.org/en/calendar/

https://privacypack.org/

Which would then hopefully increase the amount of people that use Thunderbird products.

Thanks for all the hard work the dev team has done for the Thunderbird email client for Android as i am really grateful for it as I use it as a gmail replacement until Thunderbird Pro is available to get a Thundermail email address, but I noticed a gap in the market for a standalone Thunderbird calendar app for Android and I think it would be a massive missed opportunity!

Edit: The discussion appears to be mostly at https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/dedicated-calendar-app-for-thunderbird-mobile-lightning-app/idc-p/122017#M63370 which I was directed to by someone so i'll keep the discussion over there from now.👍

Hi Mathew

The calendar suggestion below on Mozilla connect may be a better choice to place your feedback and vote on. It's more active and has far greater votes.

The TB team have also made the below comment on their state of the thunder blog.

"For calendar explorations, we’ll determine whether it’s better to integrate with the native Android calendar or build a calendar section for the app."
