How to update from version 68.12.0 to the new version

I’ve been using version 68.12.0 for a long time and now want to update to a newer version. Since I have many important tabs saved, I’d prefer not to uninstall and reinstall the app to perform the update. However, when I tried updating to versions like 80.1.2 or 110.0.1 from the Google Play Store or GitHub, the installation failed, and my phone displayed an "App not installed" error.

Could you advise which version I should install to successfully upgrade from 68.12.0? Alternatively, if there’s a way to export or back up the tabs in this version, that would also solve my problem—though I haven’t found a method to do so for this specific version.

Hi

There is no way to automatically update and retain data from an version of Firefox for Android that is so out of date now. Firefox for Android version 68 stopped being supported over five years ago.

You will need to make a separate note if the data you wish to save (bookmarks, passwords, tabs) and manually input them into a fresh copy of Firefox for Android from the Google Play store.
