ThunderBird hangs when I try to create a new e-mail account

I am unable to set up an e-mail account. All goes well until I click "Done" under "Mail Account Set Up" when the message "Checking password..." appears Then nothing, TBird just hangs. A window opens saying "Enter credentials for xxx@seaviewcottage.co.nz ( This domain is hosted by GMail) with a blue button "Next" to click but nothing happens! See attached screen dump I have set up my own e-mail address for this domain with no issues but it doesn't work for my wife's setup. I have checked ports, security etc which are same as my email set up for this domain
