Search using url bar hijacked by Search Among
I'm familiar with having to clear out these hijacking extensions and such but for some reason my url bar is set to use "Search Among" by default and I do not appear to have any traces of their program anywhere. Please help!

Hi, try these two articles:
- Search the web from the Address Bar - change the keyword service
- How to fix preferences that won't save - investigate user.js file (or just rename it to user.ignore)
Your System Details List shows the presence of a user.js file in the profile folder.
The user.js file is only there if you or other software has created it, so it shouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read on every start of Firefox and preferences set via this file will be set to the value specified in user.js on every start of Firefox and can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
