my layout is not up to date but it says the latest version is downloaded

Hi, I have the latest download the 6.0.1. But the layout at the top of my page still shows File, Edit, View, History Etc. It's not the latest layout with the version. How can I get that? I already deleted it and redownloaded it. That didn't change. The weird thing is, is that on this labtop, my husband has an account and his downloaded fine....
